The Utah Argonauts held their 2013 media night at The Gym at City Creek Thursday, May 16. The event, which served as the franchise’s official introduction to the media, allowed the Argonauts to gain valuable exposure before their first home game of the regular season on May 25.

“Media night was a great opportunity for our organization to gain valuable exposure and build a working relationship with Utah’s press and media,” Director of Communications Derek Siddoway said. “We had a great location thanks to our sponsors at The Gym to host the event. Our players have some great stories to tell and we are excited for the community to learn more about our team through the media outlets who attended tonight.”

Players, dancers, coaches, ownership and front office staff were all available for introduction and interview with the media. Among the attendees were Nebulae TV, Fox 13 News, FNA News and Viral Press, who conducted live interviews throughout the evening.

General manager Nate Washington was in attendance and commended the support he has received from the organization and the PDFL since his arrival.

“I’m excited to be here,” Washington said. “I want to play a major role in the success of this program.”

Even before media night, the team and its players have commanded attention from various leagues , including the CFL which has already picked up multiple players from the Argos.

“Coach Fayed gets calls from the Colts,” Washington said. “He gets emails from the CFL. They are watching guys that we have. Guys have been on the radar for a while and now it’s come to light. Don’t be surprised when there’s five, six, seven, eight signings here in the season.” READ MORE
