Former Portland State linebacker D.J. Robinson would have had a good claim for requesting a restraining order the past few years. During that time Portland Boltz coach Aaron Fentress and quarterback Russell Schneider relentlessly attempted to recruit him to their former team, the Portland Monarchs. Calls. Emails. Facebook stalking. All were employed. Robinson gave in and attended a practice in 2011. But the timing wasn’t right in his life.
“I had given up on him,” Fentress said. “It seemed like it was never going to happen.”
Then one day in 2012, Robinson actually showed up to a practice. He attended another. Then another. He appeared in a game. Then more.
